Brownlie Scholarship
Brownlie Scholarship supports students for study towards a research doctoral degree at the University of Canterbury. The scholarship was established in 1998 in recognition of the outstanding contribution to the development of the University of Canterbury by Professor Albert Brownlie, Vice-Chancellor 1977-1998 and Head of Economics 1965-1977.

About the Fellowship
Top-ranked candidates who have been selected for a University of Canterbury Doctoral Scholarship after having applied in May of the same year will be automatically considered for the Brownlie Scholarship, in competition with candidates applying in October for a University of Canterbury Doctoral Scholarship. Eligibility
Application for a UC Doctoral Scholarship
- Amount : $26,000 per annum and fees at the domestic rate
- Tenure : 3 years
- Closing Dates : 15 Oct 2019
How to apply
You may apply through this webpage approximately 8 weeks before applications close. If it’s possible to apply on-line for this scholarship there will be a link above to the on-line system. If the link is not provided, please download and complete the application form located below.
However, if the scholarship is managed by Universities NZ or another department of the University an External Website link will appear below and application instructions will be available through that link.
